Two UCONN Graduates Say Yes To God's Call

Today is the Feast of Saint Dominic, the founder of the Dominicans, an Order of Preachers. As many of you know Michael Bovino recently joined the Diocese of Norwich and is heading off in another week or so to Mount Saint Mary Seminary to begin his pre-theology years of study. A good friend of his and also a UCONN graduate two years ago, today receives his Dominican habit as he recently began in first year of novitiate study and prayer with the Eastern Province of the Dominicans, located out in Ohio. Congratulations Jacob Ramos.

Prayers needed for Religious Sister

I have recently received a request that we pray for Sr John Baptist of the Sisters of Charity of Our Lady Mother of the Church who has been working at the Academy of the Holy Family in Baltic Connecticut. Sister is very dedicated and has received the cross of illness in one form of cancer, lymphoma. Please place her in your daily prayers for healing and perseverance. Thank you.

Solemn profession of Perpetual Vows Simply Awesome

What a beautiful weekend weather wise and more importantly for the Church. I had the honor of being at two seperate celebrations of Solemn Perpetual Vows made by two women religious. Sister Christine Ann Hoffner made her perpetual profession of vows on Saturday at main chapel for the Apostles of the Sacred Herat of Jesus in Hamden Connecticut. Bishop Cote was the main celebrant of the Mass and recalled having given Sister Christine a blessing eight years ago when she was first entering the community with the Sisters.
