We're Back and Looking Forward to A Great Year in Norwich!Published by ggalvin on August 3, 2014 - 10:45pm
It's been a very busy summer in the diocesan vocation office. As you might have already read on the home page, we have just recently had two men ordained priests for the Diocese! This is great and very exciting for the diocese! Father Martin Noe and Father Jonathan Ficara - God bless you both as you now move forward into full service of the diocese as one of our priests. We have had one man who was placed on hold late last summer because of a medical issue. We now are pleased that Frank Gilbert has received total clearance from his doctors to move forward. Another seminarian, Tom Griffin has spent the summer recovering from surgery he had in early June because of a medical issue and is doing very well and hoping to return on time to begin his third year of theology at Pope John XXIII National seminary. Tom is looking forward to being joined by Frank and one other man who Bishop Cote accepted this past June as another seminarian, Deacon Ron Blank. All three will be studying together at Pope John XXIII National seminary in Weston MA. Bishop Cote also accepted Michael Bovino from Stonington Connecticut as a sponsored seminarian. Michael will be leaving in just a couple of weeks to begin his philosophical studies at Mount Saint Mary Seminary in Emmitsburg Maryland where he will join both Jeff Ellis and Peter Langevin who are both beginning their third year of theology. Finally, Juan Aguirre who has been studying English at Clark University in Worcester will be heading to Saint Mary Seminary in Baltimore Maryland. Juan will be placed in theology and looks forward to finishing his journey to priesthood which he started years ago down in Medellin Colombia. Please keep all our men in your prayers as they right now enjoy a couple of weeks with their families before heading back for another busy year of formation and study.
