God's Spirit at Work on Campus of Champions! UCONN!

That's right! Spring actually arrives tomorrow but the fruit of spreading vocation seeds the last few years is beginning to show the beginning of the plants. Lent has been a busy two weeks so far. During this time I have had the opportunity to speak with and visit with two men I have been working with for the past five years. Jacob, who has been discerning a call to priesthood, has determined that instead of pursuing a diocesan priestly vocation that he is being called to discern a call as a Dominican priest. As I say to each man, "your vocation to priesthood is a gift to the Church so work at discerning where God wants you to serve". Please God bless Jacob as he continues his journey with you and bring his vocation to fulfillment. Last Saturday I received a call from another man, Michael. Michael also has actively been discerning between a religious and diocesan priestly call. He phoned to let me know that he had indeed decided to pursue sponsorship with the Diocese of Norwich, his home diocese and was working on our application. Praise God! This week, Louis, another gentlemen who has already decided to take the application for the diocese at the end of this present academic semester, has been visiting three different seminaries, Catholic University's Theology House, St. Mary and Mount Saint Mary's. Please let his visits be fruitful and his travels safe. Next week I am leaving on Sunday with two more men, Wyatt and Paul, and we as we will head south to visit the very same three schools. This marks my first spring as vocation director where I have had the opportunity to both have men from our diocese visit some seminaries and also to travel and visit with me! A very interesting note regarding each of the men I have mentioned above; Jacob and Michael are both UCONN graduates, Louis and Wyatt are both presently UCONN students and Paul is a FOCUS Missionary Team Member at UCONN! Wow is the Spirit of God at Work on the campus of Champions or What!
